Harold Chavarro
God cultivated and planted seeds in Harold’s life for a while before his heart changed. Harold was raised in Brooklyn, New York by a Catholic mom and a Baptist father.
During spring break from college, Harold went on vacation to the Bahamas. While observing the beauty that God had created at Paradise Island, he came to the realization that everything he saw could not have come by mere accident. When he returned home, he accepted an invitation from his roommate’s mother to attend church. He accepted Jesus as his savior and decided to pursue God and live for him alone.
Harold met his wife Anne while attending Times Square Church in NYC. Soon after marrying they served in Jewish ministry for 4 years before ministering to people with Cerebral Palsy.
At their church in Brooklyn, Harold served as a Deacon and taught the teenage Sunday School class. When their daughters Sarah and Laura became teenagers, Harold and Anne were asked to start up a youth group. They received more training when Harold studied youth ministry at Nyack College and Anne began taking classes at New York School of the Bible (Lancaster Bible College). They led the youth ministry at their church in Brooklyn for six years before joining the staff of J-Life USA in 2009.
Watching God work in the lives of youth was an awesome privilege and blessing - seeing teens grow in their faith and beginning to move out of their comfort zones. As a result, Harold is passionate about helping others build relationships with Christ at the center and as the model for making disciples - who make disciples - impacting teens to impact America!!!
