J-Life Ministries changed my life!

About 5 years ago I was going through my second round of college and holding down a good paying job.  That year I met a man who spoke at my church about J-Life and impacting youth to impact Africa.  That’s when God said “Go!”  I had many questions: What about money? What about my job? What about my apartment? What about my bills? How do I even begin to pay for a plane ticket? Finally, with a lot of hesitation I moved forward…inch by inch or more like centimeter by centimeter. I was always looking for a way out, to stay in my comfortable life with all my friends, but God provided. He provided a way for me to pay all my bills for the year, money for a plane ticket, a way out of my lease, and enough monthly support. So I went…and I never came back!

Well, physically I came back, but a “new” me had returned. God really used J-Life to change me and my life. I had grown not only spiritually but as a man as well. And as an added bonus I was a fully trained youth worker! When I returned I received many opportunities for ministry and the best part was that I was equipped for them! I was confident in what I was doing and people saw that I was capable and that I had a gift for working in youth ministry. Soon after, I moved to a church plant and helped them start their youth ministry and today it is a thriving ministry!

Today I am a youth director along side my wife, and together we moved to New York to start J-Life USA. J-Life Africa changed my life and I want to do that for young adults here in the USA. I speak about it with passion because I know what it did for me, and what it can do for anyone.

So what’s holding you back? There are so many obstacles, but I know from experience that God can overcome. We live in a culture where earning money is priority, but I say that investing in a year of God is worth more than any job can give you.  If I hadn’t gone to J-Life I wouldn’t be the man I am today, so the investment I made there has impacted my whole life.

As the school year draws to a close many of you are thinking: what’s next? This past month as we visited several colleges we found that most students were asking themselves this same question. Taking that next step in life can be a scary thing, especially when you’re trying to do it alone.

J-Life USA provides you with an opportunity to take a step back and discover what God wants that next step to be. During your year at J-Life USA you will get the opportunity to fully devote your time and efforts to deepening your relationship with Him while serving the youth of this region.

New to our program!

March 27, 2009

We are proud to announce that starting this next term J-Life USA has added a “world” aspect to its program.  Now, any missionary coming through our program has the option of spending 1 month in any African nation that J-Life has a presence in!  The 7-month practical will now include a 6 month stint working in a domestic church community and 1 month in an African church community.
